DESCRIPTION:Belleville Public Library will host the traveling exhibit 
 "Generations of Pride\: African Americans in Illinois" from September 
 2\, 2008 through November 4\, 2008.  The exhibit consists of six large
  panels and traces the history of African Americans in Illinois from t
 he earliest settlements in the state to the present time. Each section
  consists of one or two panels with photographs\, copies of documents\
 , and drawings and a separate title panel.  This exhibit is provided b
 y the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.
